Petroleum and gas engineering deals primarily with the full engineering applications related to Petroleum and gas, from exploration, extraction, refining and transfer and finally to the manufacture of products derived from this crude.

Program Outcomes:

Competency in mathematics through differential equations, linear algebra, probability, and statistics; and engineering subjects including strength of materials, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics; and ability to apply these courses to practical Petroleum & Gas engineering problems.
Having knowledge of Petroleum & Gas Engineering up to the mark of professing any of the three main branches of the Petroleum & Gas Engineering which are Reservoir Engineering, Production Engineering and Drilling Engineering.
Ability to design and conduct different Petroleum & Gas laboratory experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret laboratory and field data.
Competency in Petroleum & Gas engineering including design and analysis of well systems, procedures for drilling and completing wells, characterization and evaluation of subsurface geological formations, design and analysis of systems for producing, injecting, lifting and handling fluids; application of reservoir engineering principles and practices for optimizing resource development and management; use of project economics and resource valuation methods for design and decision making under conditions of risk and uncertainty. 
Ability to work and interact effectively in groups/teams which have diverse personalities, cultures, and backgrounds. 
Ability to identify, formulate, and solve practical Petroleum & Gas engineering problems. 
Understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
Ability to develop effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to evaluate potential risks, i.e. consequences and probabilities of engineering solutions which may affect the society and environment.
